Celebrating 10 Years of Partnerships in Building People and Capabilities in Asia

27 Oct 2017

This year, Temasek Foundation International (TF International) celebrates 10 years of partnerships in building people and building capabilities of communities in Asia and beyond. Partnerships have always been at the heart of TF International’s programmes, where the Foundation brings together Host Communities and Programme Partner Organisations to co-develop and co-implement programmes with and for the respective communities. These partnerships focus on the areas of healthcare, education, public administration, urban management and disaster-response capability.

Over the past 10 years, TF International has committed about S$178 million towards more than 350 programmes across Asia. To commemorate the 10 years of partnerships, TF International hosted a series of 4 themed leadership forums throughout this year in Singapore that are related to TF International’s focus areas – namely, Nursing, Urban Governance, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and the Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) framework.

Gathering old friends from TF International’s past programmes as well as new partners across Asia, the forums were platforms to enhance the mutual learning among the participants from different countries where they exchanged ideas, perspectives and best practices acquired by each in their development journeys over the years. The constituent forums were respectively attended by approximately 200 nurse leaders, 100 senior government officials and urban development experts, 60 senior policy makers and TVET experts, and 150 CDIO practitioners from across Asia.

TF International will continue to support programmes and learning exchanges that enable human and social capital development in Asia and beyond. In his closing address at the TF International@10 Asia Skills Leaders Forum, which is one of the themed leadership forums, Mr Benedict Cheong, Chief Executive of TF International, said, “As communities come together to share and learn from each other, we hope this will contribute to a connected Asian and global community where we can grow and prosper together.”
